Paytm founder Vijay Shekhar Sharma, Flipkart co-founder Sachin Bansal and Micromax co-founder Rahul Sharma have made personal investment into former CEO of Housing.com Rahul Yadav’s new venture which will be a data analytics and visualisation firm.
The name of the venture is under wraps and this product is likely to be used by e-commerce companies on a day-to-day basis. Housing.com’s chief of staff Azeem Zainulbhai, chief marketing officer Pratik Seal and chief design officer Suvonil Chatterjee have reportedly left the realty portal to join the company being set up by Rahul.
As published in Financial Express, the new company will focus on analysing large data to predict consumer behaviour and provide speedy insights at key decision points. While Vijay Shekhar Sharma confirmed his investment, Rahul Sharma and Sachin Bansal were not immediately available for comments.
Talking about his investment, Vijay Shekhar Sharma told FE, “He (Yadav) is definitely an incredible maverick. He has an understanding of technology and we hope he has learnt his lesson and moved ahead.”
In other story, Rahul Yadav is scheduled to meet India’s richest man Mukesh Ambani, chairman of energy-to-retail conglomerate Reliance Industries (RIL), a post on his Facebook account that earned him 4,300 likes in less than 20 hours revealed.
Without giving any reasons for the meeting, Rahul said in his post: “The most exciting day of my life was IIT-JEE result. Getting similar and strong awesome feelings again for the upcoming meeting with Mukesh Ambani. Confession: he’s my hero!”
