Yuvi, who’s considered to Delhi Daredevil’s USP in the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL), is starting a new innings as a businessman. The 33-year-old cricketer is floating a venture fund, YouWeCan Venture, which aims to support young entrepreneurs by investing in startups across sectors.
Over a period of three to five years, Yuvi will put about Rs 50 crore in this new venture fund, which is expected to secure around Rs 300 crore from other investors during the same period.While he is concentrating on his game, he believes e-commerce is a great business opportunity.

While talking to the financial daily at his Gurgaon residence, Yuvraj said, “I had been thinking about this for four-five years. There are a lot of young entrepreneurs with great high-potential ideas and I plan to invest in these startups, to build their brands and companies.”
He further told ET, “Many of my friends and associates will co-invest in building large-scale brands and firms,” but didn’t disclose any information about whom he was referring to.
Nishant Singhal, a co-promoter of the fund, informed the business daily that the plan also includes setting up of a chain of restaurants under the brand YouWeX. However, the format of the restaurant hasn’t been finalised yet. Nishant Singhal has been with Yuvraj since 2010, as his business advisor. He is a Chartered Accountant by profession and has over 11 years of work experience with PwC. He has got a diverse experience in financial risk management, IT Strategy consulting, Corporate Finance and Corporate Governance during his PwC days.
YouWeCan has not made any investments as of now but says that is in discussions with 4-5 startups.
YouWeCan will be platform for Seed Capital, Technology Advisory, Financial Advisory, Branding, Marketing & PR. They will be interested in online startups across sectors like e-commerce, healthcare, media, real estate, etc.
