ShoeKonnect Raised 3 crores from Info Edge India

Delhi Based B2B marketplace for footwear, ShoeKonnect raised 3 crores in funding from Info Edge India.

ShoeKonnect, a product of Bizcrum Infotech Pvt. Ltd., is a Business2Business marketplace designed specifically to cater to the needs of the footwear industry.

ShoeKonnect helps footwear enterprises to connect and communicate with each other and expand their businesses. It connects manufacturers, suppliers, traders and retailers of the footwear industry.

It was started in 2014 by Siddharth Vij, Chaitanya Rathi and Siddharth Rastogi. 

“The investment will help strengthen the technology base of the company to scale up operations and expansion in terms of the user base (Footwear Buyers and Sellers across India). So, the core focus shall be improving technology and expanding the user base – buyers and sellers on the platform” said Siddharth Vij, co-founder & CEO, ShoeKonnect as per reported by ET. 

With 15000+ footwear businessmen associated, ShoeKonnect not only serves as a marketplace for buyers and sellers but also provides footwear industry-specific news through its blog sections.

With an addition of 5+ new brands each day, ShoeKonnect also displays the availability of brands like UniStar, BNG, GRIPEX, VoMax, OLMITE.

It claims to have more than 5000+ products on its app and Manufacturers from Agra, Kanpur, Delhi, Mumbai.

Kitty Agarwal, AVP -Corporate Development, Info Edge (India) said: “We have invested in ShoeKonnect because it is a young, passionate team with relevant backgrounds in the Indian footwear industry. The platform has been able to build a high level of dependability amongst various stakeholders in the industry i.e. manufacturers, distributors, wholesalers and retailers by bridging the information gap and facilitating transactions”

Besides,India’s total footwear market size is $6 billion, wherein $4 billion is domestic and rest comes from exports. In the domestic market, a large chunk of market comes from unorganized players, while only 20% is organized play.
