ShabdaNagari, a Hindi social networking portal, has raised Rs 1.2 crore in angel investment from Kanpur Angels and a clutch of other investors.
The funds will be used to expand genres on the site and upgrade user interface. “With ShabdaNagari, we want to bring Hindi speakers online where they can connect with like-minded people and express their thoughts in their language. We have a goal of bridging the digital divide,” said Kalpnesh Gupta, cofounder, ShabdaNagari.
