In 2016, only 15 percent Indian Startups ( companies ) that got funded were either founded by a woman or had a woman co-founder.

While we see more and more women founding startups ( companies )  and leading them as CEO’s, there’s still a long way to go for gender parity in business.

In 2016, approximately 1020 companies secured seed funding in India. However, only 15 percent of these companies had a female CEO/founder/co-founder. We at iScribblers researched to find where these female-founded companies are located, who are they and what do they do.

Unsurprisingly, only 156 companies had either a female founder, co-founder or CEO. A majority of them are in Delhi. The other cities where you can find these women-led companies are Bangalore, Mumbai, Hyderabad and Chennai.
